Here at Enhanced Movements we believe that humans have adapted to MOVE!
Through past injuries and the stresses of day to day life our movement capabilities can become compromised. When we lose the ability to move we compromise the way our body can function as a whole. And as an athlete these movement dysfunctions can be subtle or obvious, but can benefit from being analyzed and assessed through systematic high school sports physicals.
How it is done?
Each student athlete during their high school sports physical, will be instructed through a series of movements or exercises that will challenge various joint ranges of motion and stability. The goal is to have the individual perform the movement as described to the best of their abilities. The movements are recorded and analyzed after the session, to allow the practitioner to see everything that is going on. This information can be relayed to the coaches and trainers to provide them the best information.
Once the analysis is completed, a report of findings will be given and explained to the individual so they are aware of their own movement capabilities. From here recommendations for pain treatment, movement correction, or training can be given to the individual to help them improve where their movement may have been lacking.
Although improving pain and preventing injuries is one of the main goals when coming to our clinic, we must keep in mind that improving ones own movement will aid in pain reduction and injury prevention.
